Leather sofas are divided into genuine leather and imitation leather. The leather is made of natural leather, mainly cowhide and pigskin; imitation leather is artificial. There is a big difference in performance and price between the two, so please pay attention to the distinction when buying.
1.Look at the material
Leather sofa is actually a general term. Pigskin, horse skin, donkey skin, and cowhide can all be used as raw materials for sofas. You must figure out what kind of leather you are using. Among them, cowhide leather is soft, thick, and of the best quality. Sofas are generally made of buffalo leather, which is thicker and affordable. Even better is the A-level first layer of yellow leather. The texture of horse skin and donkey skin is similar to that of cowhide, but the surface of the skin is loose and easy to peel off after a long time. It is not durable, so the price is cheap.
2.Look at the wooden frame
To see whether the sofa frame is strong, it is related to the service life and quality assurance of the sofa. The specific method is to raise one end of the three-seater sofa, and pay attention to whether the leg on the other end is off the ground when the raised part is 10cm away from the ground. Only when the other side is also off the ground, the inspection is considered to be passed.
Distinguish smell Leather has a fishy smell of animals; while fake leather is relatively more inclined to the pungent smell of leather.
3.Look at the filler
Fillers mainly refer to sponges. According to their elasticity, sponges are divided into three types: high elasticity, high elasticity and super softness, and medium elasticity. The specific method is to press the armrest and backrest of the sofa by hand. If you can clearly feel the presence of the wooden frame, it proves that the filling density of the sofa is not high and the elasticity is not good enough. The sofa wooden frame that is easily pressed will also accelerate the wear of the sofa jacket and reduce the service life of the sofa.
4.Look at the corner
In order to reduce the cost of some leather sofas, high-quality leather is used on the top of the sofa, but some inferior leather is mixed on the back or corners.
